Virgin Media offers a free catch up service for M+ customers, allowing them to watch a selection of programs broadcast over the last week when they are ready.

The lack of a home phone add-on means that there is no monthly line rental to pay on top of the package price, although this does mean there is a slight increase in the flat rate.

Variety in digital television is not difficult to come by, but a comprehensive entertainment package that represents great value in subscription television is a little rarer. The Virgin Media TV Size M+ achieves this balance admirably and it is an ideal choice for someone who wishes to forgo the usual inclusion of a Virgin Media phone line as part of most of the other bundles offered by Virgin.

The channels available here are bolstered from the standard free to air offerings by several subscription-only stations including Sky 1, which features brand new episodes of The Simpsons amongst other things and the excellent Discovery Channel, which has some of the best documentary programming in the world.

Sports fans will enjoy Eurosport and comedy fans will enjoy the GOLD channel, which shows classic sitcoms from throughout the UK's broadcasting history and is only available as part of the M+ package or higher.

There are also many digital radio stations available via the V Box, a box that is included free with this bundle. You can use the V Box's remote to scan through the listings and set reminders for programmes that you would like to watch.

You can also use it to access interactive services and special programming which is not available to non-digital viewers, including the option to select different news feeds or sporting events to watch.

If your schedule means that you regularly miss your favourite series then the V Box also comes to the rescue thanks to the 7 day catch up service. This is an on-demand TV service which gives you a wide selection of recently aired programs to choose from and all of the major terrestrial networks make their own top shows available to start, stop and rewind whenever you are ready to watch them for up to a week after they were broadcast.

With the Virgin Media Size M+ package you can also choose to add in an extra pay monthly movie package, called PictureBox. However, as with the catch up TV service, this is available on demand rather than start times being dictated by predetermined listings.

You can choose from plenty of great films covering every imaginable genre and each month there is a generous limit as to the number of films you can watch using this service. All the films are viewed directly on the V Box so there is no need to rent a DVD ever again.

It is easy to get the M+ digital TV package from Virgin Media in your own home provided you live within a cabled area. There will be a charge for installation and additional services can be added but will result in an increase to the monthly payments.
