Origin has built a reputation for being a reliable alternative to BT-based services and currently offers several broadband and phone packages throughout the UK. You can compare all of its latest deals using the tools on this page.

Enter your postcode in our availability checker to see which Origin broadband services are available in your area.
What’s the best Origin broadband and phone deal?
Whether you’re looking for a fast broadband connection, inclusive calls or overall affordability, you can use the comparison tools on this page to help identify the best package for you.
Most of Origin’s broadband and phone packages can be configured to meet your usage needs and budget preference before you sign up. Follow the deal link to tailor the package of your choice.
Is there traffic management?
No, all of Origin’s broadband services are truly unlimited, which means the provider won’t actively slow down (throttle) your broadband speed during evenings and weekends.
Nevertheless, you may still experience reduced speeds during peak times while the network is in higher demand.
What’s the Origin broadband router?
You have several options when it comes to the Origin broadband router. Deciding which is right for you comes down to requirements and preference.
Standard wireless router
Origin’s standard broadband router is the Thompson Technicolour TG582n, which features three useable Ethernet ports for wired internet connections around the home plus previous wi-fi standard (802.11n) for wireless connectivity.
This is best suited to Origin’s standard 17Mb broadband service (ADSL).
Advanced wireless router
The advanced router is the Netgear N300, which features four Ethernet ports, improved wireless range and higher overall performance. It’s also equipped for sharing USB drive storage across your home network.
It’s slightly more expensive than the standard router but is better suited to Origin’s fibre broadband plans.
Bring your own
If neither of Origin’s suggested routers takes your fancy – or if you already have a fully functioning router of your own – you can forgo the hardware options and make you own arrangements.
You can check the compatibility of a router you already own – or on you are interested in buying – by getting in touch with Origin.
What speed can I expect?
You’ve a choice between three tiers of download speed: up to 17Mb, up to 38Mb and up to 76Mb. Bear in mind that these represent the maximum download rate available and aren’t a guarantee of your average speed day-to-day.
You can get an estimate of your achievable download speed by entering your postcode and landline number in this page’s availability checker. Origin will also provide you with an estimate before you sign up.
Origin’s upload speeds increase with its download rate, with up 1Mb, 10Mb and 20Mb rates available within its broadband product range.
Like download speeds, your upload speed will vary, although you are less likely to notice changes in upload rate under average use.
How much is line rental?
Origin charges £17.99 per month for line rental but if you choose to pay for one or two years upfront, you’ll save money overall.
How can I save money on Origin broadband and phone?

On sign up you have the option to pay for one or two years’ line rental upfront for a discounted sum; a potential saving of up to £100+.

Can I get free international calls?
