TalkTalk is a very well established provider of home broadband packages to UK consumers. Broadband packages from TalkTalk offer very good upload and download speeds, a range of monthly download allowances to suit your needs and various inclusive call allowances that save you even more money.
And it is this inclusion of land line minutes that sets TalkTalk apart from most of their competition in the UK broadband marketplace. In fact TalkTalk offers no standalone broadband packages although these are very often the bread-and-butter of their rivals’ businesses.
The maximum advertised connection speed across all of TalkTalk's broadband packages is 76Mbps. This is a decent connection speed for non-fibre optic broadband packages, i.e. those that are carried across the traditional copper wire phone network. TalkTalk advertises the upload speed of their packages as being up to 19Mbps.
There are three packages of broadband internet access offered by TalkTalk, each of which is actually a broadband and phone bundle as all, without exception, feature some level of inclusive calls.
TalkTalk SimplyBroadband is the cheapest of TalkTalk's broadband package. It features up to 17Mbps broadband access, an unlimited monthly download allowance and PAYG landline calls.
TalkTalk SimplyBroadband + Anytime calls brings you all of the great features of TalkTalk Essentials such as downloads at up 17Mbps and unlimited downloads, with the added bonus of inclusive calls to UK land lines all day, every day.
TalkTalk Essential Fibre Large is the most complete broadband package from TalkTalk. It includes download speeds of up to 76Mbps and uploads at up to 19Mbps. It boasts an unlimited monthly download allowance along with unlimited inclusive calls to UK land lines at all times.
When you sign up for one of TalkTalk's broadband packages you will receive a TalkTalk router as part of your subscription. This device is then connected to your phone line and is what enables your computer(s) to communicate with the broadband network.
TalkTalk routers are wireless-enabled. This means that in addition to being able to browse the web by connecting a computer directly to the router you can also enjoy broadband Internet access anywhere in your home via any suitable Wi-Fi device such as a laptop or MacBook.
Currently TalkTalk does not offer any broadband only packages. As discussed above every single broadband package from TalkTalk is in fact a bundle of broadband services and inclusive land line calls. For full details of the level of inclusive calls just click “more” underneath the name of any of the packages above.
