How to compare TalkTalk broadband deals
TalkTalk is one of only five UK companies that offers broadband, TV and phone bundles. It also offers some of the lowest prices on the market, so if you’re looking to save a bit of money on your telecoms bill, you’ve come to the right place.
Before getting down to the nitty-gritty of comparing TalkTalk’s packages, it’s worth checking the availability in your area by putting your postcode into the checker at the top of the page.
Make sure you check the details of whichever package you’re thinking of buying before putting your money down. Extra charges, usage limits, delivery fees and a whole host of other unpleasant surprises can sometimes be hidden in the fine print, so make sure you give it a thorough read before you commit.
Why choose TalkTalk?
There are a few good reasons to choose TalkTalk for your broadband, TV and phone provider; here are some we feel are the most important.
The main reason to consider TalkTalk is that it’s cheap. If you look at the bottom level of the compare page you can pick up a broadband, TV and phone package for £20 per month (including line rental but exclusing calls). If you’re looking for the cheapest broadband prices but still want to watch TV and call your family and friends, TalkTalk is the place to go.
Fast, unlimited fibre optic broadband
Those looking for a quick fibre optic connection are in luck. If it’s available in your area you can upgrade your bundle to include either Faster Fibre 38Mbps, which has an upload speed of 1.9Mbps, or Faster Fibre 76Mbps which has a 19Mbps upload speed. These speeds should be enough to support families with high internet usage, meaning you can download, stream and browse to your heart’s content.
Tailor your TalkTalk TV package
TalkTalk gives you the option of building your TV package your way. Having the choice to add certain elements, called Boosts, means you’re not shelling out for channels you won’t watch. It also offers all the Sky Sports and Sky Movies channels, so film nuts and sports fanatics can get their fill as well.
Pros & cons
- Cheapest broadband, TV & phone bundles

Which package is right for me?
TalkTalk has packages suitable for a range of budgets and a range of requirements. We’ve had a scour through and plucked some of our favourites.
This is one of the cheapest broadband packages in the UK. It is totally unlimited and there is no traffic management in place, so you won’t be slowed down in peak times. It comes with 17Mbps download speed and is on a 18-month contract. Unlike other budget broadband, which can be a bit stingy with what they give you by way of extras, this package has some worthwhile additions such as the powerful Super Router and Homesafe online protection. This package is perfect for those looking for a simple broadband package.
TV with Fast Broadband
This is the cheapest TV, broadband and phone package offered by TalkTalk. It comes with unlimited 17Mbps broadband and 70+ Freeview channels. Anytime calls costs extra. You also receive TalkTalk’s wireless router and a YouView box so you can watch and pause live TV, as well as the option to upgrade your broadband to fibre optic and add Sky Sports and Movies, should you wish.
TV Plus with Faster Fibre 38Mbps
With this fibre and premium TV package you get the best variety of TV, a fast fibre broadband connection and the best selection of extras. This package comes with 70+ Freeview channels and seven Sky channels, a free YouView+ box, a Super Router, a choice of either 38Mbps or 76Mbps fibre optic broadband and free anytime calls. You also have the option to add extra channels to your TV package, and anytime calls.
What will I need?
A fibre optic connection
TalkTalk fibre services do not yet cover the whole country. You can find out if fibre optic broadband has reached your area by putting your postcode into our tracker at the top of this page. Note that there is a one-off charge for fibre installation.
A wireless router
A router will distribute your broadband signal around your property and keep all your wireless devices connected. TalkTalk provides a free Super Router with all its broadband packages. There is no additional delivery charge for the router.
How do I switch?
First of all, check to see what is on offer in your area with our availability checker. Then have a look at what TalkTalk offers and work out what would best fit your requirements – try not to overestimate how much you’re going to need because you don’t want to be paying for something you’re not going to use.
Once you’ve decided on a package, click on the blue button next to your chosen deal above: this will take you straight to TalkTalk’s website where you can complete your purchase. There is no need to call your current provider, unless you are with Virgin Media, which operates on a separate network. Bear in mind that if you try to leave your current provider before your minimum term is up, you will be charged early termination fees.
There’s no denying that TalkTalk offers cheap packages, and there aren’t too many hidden fees to watch out for. You’ll only really find good value from TalkTalk if you focus on what you need and not what you think you’ll use.
If you’re a heavy internet user that downloads and streams content constantly, then a fibre broadband package is great value, but if you only use it for sending the occasional email and checking your Facebook account then a standard broadband speed will be more than adequate. If you’ve already made the move to TalkTalk, we’d love to hear how you’re getting on in the comments section below.
