Plusnet and Virgin Media offer bumper data deals on SIM-only plans

Tuesday, October 3rd 2017

Plusnet is offering more than double the data on its £10 a month SIM-only plan for the next three weeks.

And Virgin Media is tripling the data allowance on some of its SIM-only plans.

Until 24 October, £10 gets you 5GB of data with Plusnet instead of the usual 2GB as well as 1,500 minutes and unlimited texts.

The deal is available to new and existing customers and comes on a rolling 30-day contract.

All of Plusnet’s mobile plans now come with Roman Like at Home, as is the case with all other UK providers.

In Plusnet’s case this allows you to use your data, calls and texts in more than 40 overseas destinations without being charged extra.

Plusnet also allows customers to set a ‘Smart Cap’, which suspends your service when you reach a per-determined limit of between £2 and £30.

Triple data

Virgin Media is tripling the amount of data being offered on three of its SIM-only plans throughout the rest of October.

This means that for £9 a month you can get 3GB of data instead of the usual 1GB, plus 1,500 minutes and unlimited texts.

For £12 a month you can get 6GB instead of the usual 2GB plus 2,500 minutes and unlimited texts. £13 a month currently gets you 9GB rather than the usual 3GB – again with 2,500 minutes and unlimited texts.

All of Virgin’s SIM-only plans come with data-free messaging on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Twitter, so using those apps won’t eat into your allowance.

Virgin also lets you keep your unused data and roll it over to the following month, roam like at home in 43 destinations and upgrade or downgrade your plan every month if you wish.
