9-1-1 is coming to the UK exclusively on Sky Living and NOW TV

Monday, March 5th 2018 by Oprah Flash

After becoming a hit in the US, Sky has done a deal with Twentieth Century Fox to bring 9-1-1 to screens in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Starring Angela Bassett, Peter Krause and Connie Britton the procedural drama gives you an insider’s view of the high-pressure experiences that the police, paramedics and firefighters go through on a daily basis.

They are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. As the first point of call in an emergency, the responders have a battle on their hands to save those at their most vulnerable, all while solving problems in their own lives.

We (mainly me) will openly admit that we have a girl crush on Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, Black Panther). She is career goals, body goals, slay goals just overall #goals in every department. Hence, we were chomping at the bit when we heard the that hit drama starring the award-winning actress is coming to Sky Living this year. We can dose up on extra fierceness!

Teamed up with the masterminds behind American Horror Story, creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, along with well-known actors Peter Krause (The Catch), Connie Britton (Nashville,). Oliver Stark (Into the Badlands), Aisha Hinds (Shots Fired), Kenneth Choi (The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story) and Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break), we are surely in for a treat.

We don’t have an exact release date yet, but Sky has hinted it will be some time later this year. The show is already making waves in America, drawing in 15m viewers for the season’s pilot.

Adam MacDonald, director of Sky Living, said: "I'm delighted to bring the heart-stoppingly dramatic 9-1-1 to Sky Living where it will thrill viewers alongside fellow best-loved US dramas. Its nail-biting blend of breathtaking danger and raw emotion will have UK viewers - including me! - completely hooked."
