A side of weed with that salad? Cooking on High is coming to Netflix in June
Got the munchies? Cue Netflix’s new show Cooking On High, a competitive cooking show in which all dishes have one common ingredient. Weed.
The show is set to premiere on the streaming service from 22 June.
Hosted by comedian and YouTube personality Josh Leyva, with fellow comedian and activist Ngaio Bealum as the culinary weed expert, 10 chefs go head to head to see who can come up with the most creative tongue-tingling dishes for a panel of four celeb judges.
This is the first of its kind, think Great British Bake-off or Masterchef but instead of soggy bottoms, the pastry has a bit of special seasoning - marijuana.
Whatever you call it, Mary Jane, weed, hash, cannabis, herb, wacky backy, trees; whether you never go near the stuff or tried it that one time in Amsterdam, you can almost guarantee everyone has some sort of opinion on it, so we have to admit we think this series will be dope (cringe but it had to be done).
I was gonna go to work but then I got high
As you’d expect it’s rated an 18, so not one to watch with the kids. We must stress that it is illegal to buy, possess and sell cannabis here in the UK so please do not try these recipes at home (or at least don’t get caught).
Also coming to Netflix in June is Marvel’s Luke Cage. The series is returning to the streaming site for season two and will be available to watch from 2 June.
A trailer for this season shows the bulletproof strongman free from prison and enjoying his newfound reputation in Harlem.
Netflix offers a free 30-day trial so you can try before you buy and see how it compares to NOW TV or Amazon Prime Video. If you like it and decide to continue with the service, it costs £5.99 a month for the basic subscription. There is no contract so you can cancel whenever you like.
For the standard package with HD streaming and the ability to watch it on two screens at one time, it’s £7.99 a month.
The premium package is £9.99 a month for Ultra HD and the ability to have four of the family or friends stream on a different screen at the same time. Top titles like The Crown, Suits and Friends are all available to watch on the service, with new show releases announced each month.
