Add Sky Box Sets to your Sky TV bundle for £5 a month

Wednesday, February 21st 2018 by Mike Whitehead

Remember all those thousands of years ago when after watching one episode of your favourite TV series you had to wait a whole week to watch another? One. Whole. Week. There was also the additional pain of TV ads rudely interrupting your viewing pleasure right when it got to the best bit of an episode.

It beggars belief that our delicate race ever made it through those dark, medieval times but make it we did. Nowadays, through the power of streaming services, we can watch an entire series one after another whenever the fancy takes us.

With those young upstarts, Netflix and Amazon, constantly snapping at its heels, Sky TV has had to conduct some serious pivoting over the last few years in order to still be viewed as one of the best providers of sports and entertainment programming. Now, with over 400 of the hottest UK and US series available via its Box Sets collections, you can binge as many episodes, free of any ad-breaks, uninterrupted for as long as you like. All for just £5 a month.

With so many shows available it’s hard to know where to begin, here’s a selection of what’s on offer.

The Walking Dead on Sky Box Sets

Starting with some of its flagship TV shows, you can watch Series 1 to 8 (first half of season 8) of The Walking Dead. This post-apocalyptic horror series follows the fortunes of former town sheriff, Rick Grimes and his group of followers in a world overrun by zombies. Ironically, in such a savage unforgiving world it is other groups of survivors who present more of a threat to Rick and his crew as they all try to make sense of what is happening to them.

The critically acclaimed first season of Big Little Lies, starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern is also available. Set in Monterrey, California, the series tells the story of three women who become embroiled in a murder investigation. The series recently won eight Emmy Awards along with a number of Golden Globes including acting nods for Kidman and Dern.

Other top shows include series 1-13 of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, Series 1-8 of crime drama Dexter and Series 1-2 of Stan Lee’s hit drama, Lucky Man.

If comedy’s more your thing you can watch all nine series of Emmy-award winning medical comedy Scrubs, set in the fictional ‘Sacred Heart’ teaching hospital and starring Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and John C. McGinley. Or if you’re looking for more of a British flavour you can catch the first series of Sick Note starring Rupert Grint and Nick Frost. Other comedy series include Series 1-7 of Nurse Jackie, Series 1-6 of Trollied and Series 1-4 of Silicon Valley.

Sky's basic Entertainment package is available for £20 a month over an 18-month contract with the Box Sets available for a further £5 a month.
