Friday, April 13th 2018 by Oprah Flash

Amazon Prime Video is adding Discovery Kids to its Channels line-up, exclusively for customers in the UK.

The new channel features popular children’s TV shows including Angry Bird Toons, My Little Pony and Peppa Pig, as well as orginal shows with more of a Discovery 'vibe' such as Doki, Meet The Penguins, Dogs: The Untold Story and How Do They Do It - Kids.

You can access Discovery Kids through the Amazon Prime Video app and will have to pay a monthly £3.99 subscription.

The content of the new channel is aimed at children aged between 4 and 8 years old and is made up of a range of fun and educational shows. Discovery has produced content in the UK for nearly 30 years but this is the first time it has ventured into children’s TV.

'Children are digital natives'

Michael Lang, CEO of Discovery International, said: "Children are digital natives from an increasingly young age, and given the success of our Discovery Kids channels around the world, we saw a unique opportunity to engage directly with them through our content.

“We have created a fun and entertaining place for young children and their parents to come and explore the world in a safe environment."

The beauty of Amazon Prime Video Channels is the freedom to only pay for what you want to watch without having to sign up to a bundle or contract.

Discovery Kids joins a range of family programming already offered by Prime Video. If you’ve got a membership you can log on and watch the Emmy award-winning series Tumble Leaf and Lost in Oz, and family favourite movies from Gruffalo to School of Rock.
