Amazon Echo Spot available to pre-order next week for £119.99
Smart speakers with in-built personal assistants boomed in popularity last year and we can only expect bigger and better devices in 2018. First up in the new wave of devices is the Amazon Echo Spot which goes on sale next week.
From Wednesday 24 January, the newest edition to the Amazon Echo family will be available in the UK and its stylish compact design with an added screen could be the ‘je ne sais quoi’ your home was missing.
By adding a screen to the device, Amazon has opened up a new range of activities that you can do with the Echo Spot. You’ll be able to watch video news briefings, have an impromptu karaoke session with the lyrics on screen and make video calls to your nearest and dearest.
Alexa is the ‘brain’ behind the Amazon Echo series and is built in the cloud so will always be updated with new features and skills. Once you get used to the Echo Spot it will adapt to your speech patterns and preferences.
Through the Echo Spot and the other Echo devices, Alexa can instantly become your personal trainer, wake you up in the morning, order your dinner and talk about the weather while it’s at it.
To wake up the smart home device just say, "Alexa, call dad," or "Alexa, send a message to Fernando" and the job will be done.
On sale next week for £119.99
The list of activities it can do is endless but what you really want to know is how much lighter your purse will be after you’ve brought it and where you can get it from.
You can now pre-order the Echo Spot in either black or white for £119.99 and Amazon will start shipping it out next Wednesday (24 January).
