TalkTalk offers £18.95 broadband deal in January flash sale

Monday, January 8th 2018 by Oprah Flash

The January sales are still in full swing and if your current contract is drawing to a close, now is a good time to have a browse through the broadband deals and offers currently available.

From today until Thursday 25 January, TalkTalk has a Flash sale on its basic broadband and TV packages.

It now costs £18.95 a month for Fast Broadband with download speeds up to 17Mbps. You’ll pay this price over a 12-month contract and the cost of set-up has been included in the monthly cost. The usage is unlimited so you won’t have to worry about being cut off or facing unexpected charges.

Once you’ve signed up, TalkTalk promises the price will be fixed throughout the length of your contract so if the provider hikes its price, you will not be affected until your minimum term is up.

This package will suit you if you have a smaller household that only uses a few devices at a time when browsing the net. Download speeds up to 17Mbps should be enough for you to check your Facebook, stream music on Spotify and do your online shopping.

The monthly cost changes depending on the length of your contract. The Flash sale applies to the 12-month contract at £18.95 a month. If you opt for an 18-month plan the price shoots up to a pretty expensive £27 a month. Over a 24-month contract its £19.95 for the same package.

Broadband and TV for £18.95 in flash sale

Also in the TalkTalk Flash sale, you can get a broadband and TV package for £18.95, the same price as the Fast Broadband plan. You’ll get the same broadband as mentioned above, but with an extra TV box which supplies more than 80 channels and lets you pause and rewind live TV. There is an extra one-off fee of £25 for the TV box.

The channels you’ll receive are much like the ones you can get on Freeview, which is pre-installed on most TVs these days. However, if your television is a bit more seasoned and doesn't have Freeview built in, then this package might be worth looking into. If you have a Netflix subscription you’ll be able to access it on your TV box, as well as rent blockbuster movies from the TalkTalk TV store.

If you can afford to part with an extra £7 a month you can get Fast Broadband with TV Plus. This package includes all of the features mentioned above but comes with a more high-tech TV box that lets you pause, rewind and record live TV, watch more than 80 Freeview channels as well as 30 extra entertainment channels including Sky Living MTV and National Geographic.

This will cost you £25.95 a month over a 12-month contract with a fee of £25 to cover the cost of the TV box.

All three of these packages do not include inclusive calls so you will be charged 11.50p per minute for any calls that you make.

TalkTalk claims you’ll be making a saving of 25% if you sign up during its sale. This is not strictly true as the price has dropped down from £19.95 not £27 a month. The £27 cost it is talking about refers to the monthly payment after your initial contract comes to an end.

When this happens it would be worth your while to shop around as any deals or offers that accompany broadband packages are usually exclusive to new customers, although TalkTalk is the exception.
