BT introduces WiFi and 4G calling for all mobile customers
Just in time for the Easter holidays, BT Mobile is introducing two new features to help you make the most of your smartphone. From 29 March, you’ll be able to make Wi-Fi and 4G Calls.
If your handset supports it, Wi-Fi Calling allows you to make calls and send texts using just a wi-fi connection. This will come in particularly useful for you if you’re always getting cut-off mid-call because you’ve got rubbish mobile signal.
You may notice this is more prevalent in rural areas. If you live in a more populated part of the UK, you can still have trouble with signal in tower blocks or inside large buildings like shopping centres and hospitals.
4G Calling works on a similar principle but is slightly different. It lets you make clearer, better quality calls by using the 4G spectrum. It will increase your mobile signal so even though you’re chatting to someone miles away, it will sound like they are just around the corner.
Guilty of scrolling through Instagram while you’re chatting to bae? With BT Mobile’s new feature, you’ll be able to connect to the internet without interrupting your call. It won’t cost you anything extra to start using Wi-Fi or 4G Calling.
O2, Three, EE, iD Mobile and Vodafone already offer the feature for handsets that have the capability.
