Cable.co.uk offers exclusive Plusnet fibre broadband deal

Plusnet is offering a 12-month fibre broadband deal – and it’s only available via Cable.co.uk.

The unlimited fibre package is £24.99 a month, including line rental, and comes with £50 cashback and no activation fee.

It gives you download speeds up to 38Mbps, upload speeds up to 1.9Mbps and unlimited monthly usage.

Calls cost 8.4p a minute and are not inclusive, and the first month’s payment is required upfront.

Customers signing up through Cable.co.uk will only be committing themselves to a 12-month contract as opposed to Plusnet’s standard 18-month minimum term, giving them the chance to shop around and switch six months earlier.

Plusnet’s unlimited 17Mbps broadband is currently £18.99 a month for 18 months and also comes with £50 cashback if you order online. Set-up is free.

If you’re looking for faster speeds, Plusnet unlimited fibre extra gives you download speeds up to 76Mbps and upload speeds up to 19Mbps.

The package is currently £29.99 a month for an 18-month contract, again with no installation fee.

In May, Plusnet announced that the price of its line rental and phone packages would be going up from 29 June.

Line rental, which is included in the price of its broadband packages, went from £17.99 to £18.99 a month and is now line with the amount charged by parent company BT.

'Reluctant to increase prices'

Line rental saver, which allows you to save money by paying for 12 months’ line rental up front, went up by £12 from £185.88 to £197.88.

A Plusnet spokesperson said in May: “We’re always reluctant to increase prices, and we’re the last big provider to do so.

“We strive to provide the best for our customers and have been heavily investing in our products and services to offer exciting new features such as Plusnet Call Protect.

“This free service helps our customers get more from their phone line by filtering out annoying nuisance calls.”

Call Protect automatically blocks calls from a list of known nuisance callers and diverts them to a junk voicemail box.

Customers can also add their own unwanted numbers and divert specific types of numbers.
