Chance to win Samsung Gear VR collection when you register interest in new S9 with EE
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is nearly here. You can now register with EE for exclusive information of the Samsung Galaxy S9’s launch (25 February) and be in with a chance to win a free Samsung Gear VR collection.
For months now the interweb has been buzzing with rumours and speculations of what tech we can expect from Samsung’s latest flagship phone. There’s not long left to wait until we can finally put the rumours to bed as the manufacturer has confirmed the phone will be launched during its Unpacked celebration at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Didn’t get an invite to the conference? No worries you can live stream the Samsung Unpacked celebration on its website.
Samsung has kept very tight-lipped about the spec, but teased us with a video earlier this month. It suggests the main talking point of the new handset will be its state-of-the-art camera.
Word on the street is the screen will pretty much be the same size and shape as the current flagship phone so it will keep the 18:5:9 aspect ratio. It’s thought the processor will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 854, so much faster than you’re used to in the Samsung Galaxy S8 with a stronger battery life. We’ll have to wait ‘til Sunday to see if this is true.
Vodafone, O2 and Sky Mobile are all offering opportunities to register for the latest information but as far as we know, EE is the only provider to combine this with a prize give-away.
When you register with EE, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a Samsung Gear VR Collection worth £299. You’ll get the full virtual reality experience with a Gear 360 camera to stream live 360° footage, the Gear VR headset with controller and a 64GB memory card.
Only five to give away
EE only has five in stock and the winners will be announced on Thursday 8 March so good luck, our fingers are crossed for you.
Registering doesn’t mean pre-order but we assume this will come into place on Monday following the launch.
When the Samsung Galaxy S9 comes out we expect the prices of its older brother the Samsung Galaxy S8 to drop once the hype has shifted.
At the moment, EE’s cheapest deal for the Samsung Galaxy S8 is £44 a month and a one-off upfront cost of £50. You get 1GB of data, unlimited calls and texts with six months of free Apple Music and three months' access to the BT Sport App.
Vodafone’s cheapest deal is £45 a month for 500MB data but you will have to part with an eye-watering £249 upfront. The provider currently has a quadruple data offer on so you can get a 16GB tariff for £55 a month and a slightly less offensive £49 a month.
O2’s cheapest price is £44 a month with £49.99 to pay upfront for 1GB of data, unlimited calls and unlimited minutes. If you’re willing to pay an extra tenner a month more you could get the 20GB tariff with a small upfront cost of £19.99.
