Currys PC World offering a ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ option on the Apple Watch Series range
If you were ever feeling lucky and wanted to place a bet on which company will become the first to have a market value in excess of trillion dollars you wouldn’t be too far off track if you thought that company was going to be Apple.
The technology behemoth recently passed 900 billion market capitalisation in November 2017 and has cash reserves in excess of 250 billion. To put that into perspective, if Apple wanted to it could purchase Royal Dutch Shell, Britain’s biggest listed company on the FTSE 100 (Market cap of 213 billion), and still have plenty of spare change.
For fear of stating the obvious, the key to Apple’s success has been its innovation in product development. The first-generation Apple Watch was released in April 2015 to a breathless audience. In a very generic sense, it was originally designed to incorporate fitness tracking and health-oriented capabilities. The Apple Watch Series 3 was released on 22nd September 2017 and is quite an upgrade from its predecessors. The big difference between Series 3 is its ability to access Internet data without being tethered to an iPhone.
Electrical retailer, Currys PC World, has recognised the popularity of the Apple Watch and is offering the full range with a fabulous interest free option.
Flexible credit to spread the cost
Currys ‘Your Plan’ offers flexible credit allowing you to purchase the latest technology. Basically, the choice is yours, you can choose to pay nothing for the first six months and then pay the final balance in full. If you choose this option you will pay no interest. Alternatively, you can choose to spread the payments over a period that suits your needs and budget. So, for example, an Apple Watch Series 3 (38 mm model) priced at £329, spread over 24 months would cost £18.03 a month (APR 19.9%).
Your Plan flexible credit is available on purchases of £99 and over. Once your account is open you can use it to spend again in the future. To apply for the ‘Your Plan flexible credit’ you need to be aged between 18 and 80, be in full-time employment (working 16+ hours per week), retired or in receipt of disability allowance and have been a current UK resident for at least three years. You also need a bank account with a direct debit facility and total household income in excess of £10,000 per annum.
The Apple Watch Series 3 range starts from £329 for the entry model (38 mm) rising to £429 for the Nike+ cellular (42 mm) model with built-in 4G.
Alternatively, EE offers a pay-monthly deal for the Apple Watch Series 3 range. Prices start at £25 a month over a two-year contract, with nothing to pay upfront. The amount you pay upfront then goes up depending on the model you choose. With this option you connect the Apple Watch Series 3 to your iPhone and use your EE tariff to access the web, make calls or send texts.
