EE and Virgin Mobile customers affected by network problems
EE mobile customers around the country have been having problems getting online.
The issue is also affecting customers of Virgin mobile, which uses the EE network.
According to the Down Detector website, the problems started at around 7am today.
An EE spokesperson said the issues were not nationwide – affecting only three counties – and did not affect 4G customers.
“We're investigating reports that a power equipment failure at one of our switch sites is affecting 2G and 3G data services for some customers in the Powys, Herefordshire and Shropshire areas.
"Voice and 4G data services are unaffected. We’re working hard to bring our full services back online as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing in the meantime.”
Both EE and Virgin have been responding to customers who have complained on social media.
