EE offers 'most affordable' wireless charger and expands Add to Plan scheme

Tuesday, September 12th 2017 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

EE is offering its lowest price wireless charger and has refreshed its ‘Add to Plan’ scheme to include new cases and charging accessories.

The Belkin Qi wireless charging pad is available from EE for £29.99 and allows customers to charge any Qi-enabled device.

Qi is the wireless charging standard used across smartphones, cases and other devices.

Other brands featured in EE’s range of chargers and accessories include Apple, Beats, Belkin, Incipio, Otterbox, Tech21 and Zagg.

EE is also improving its Add to Plan scheme, which allows customers to choose from a range of products and spread the cost over 11 months without paying any more than the RRP.

Through Add to Plan, EE customers can get a set of Beats X wireless headphones for £10 a month or the Samsung convertible wireless charger for £6 a month.

It is available to new and upgrading customers taking out a 24-month handset plan in an EE store or over the phone.

Sharon Meadows, director of devices, EE, said: “We’re seeing an increasing growth in the number of customers wanting wireless charging solutions, and even more smartphones that support this feature, so we’re pleased to be introducing our most affordable offer yet.

“We’re also adding new charging and headphones options to our Add to Plan range so that so it continues to offer a better way for our customers to pay for the best new tech.”

'Solve any problems'

EE has recently opened the first of four new showcase stores designed to give customers a more personal and immersive shopping experience.

The Tottenham Court Road store features a Help Hub with video calling capabilities, areas where customers can get hands-on with the latest tech and a 4G network checker.

Other showcase stores will be opened in Westfield London, Westfield Stratford and Nottingham Victoria.

Ettienne Brandt, managing director of channels and trading at EE, said: “Our new showcase stores are about creating a destination where customers can speak to a real expert face-to-face to solve any problems, charge their device, or just have some fun while immersing themselves in the latest gadgets.

“There’s no substitute for getting help from an expert in person and we’re mixing technology with the personal touch to make customers feel as supported as possible.”
