EE roaming problem leaves holidaymakers without a signal

EE’s roaming services have been hit by network problems, leaving customers across Europe and in the US without a mobile signal.

A number of customers currently abroad have said they are unable to make calls, send texts or get online.

A spokesperson for the provider said: “We’re aware that some EE customers travelling abroad are experiencing issues getting connected to roaming services.

“We apologise to any customers affected, and we are continuing to urgently work with our roaming network partners to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

“Customers can try restarting their device or turning flight mode on and off as that has restored service for a number of customers and may help to resolve the problem.”

Customers have taken to social media to vent their frustrations.

EE has been responding to customers individually on Twitter, again suggesting that restarting their phones – or switching them to flight mode and back – could sort things out.
