Filming starts on series 7 of Sky One's Strike Back

Tuesday, June 5th 2018 by Oprah Flash

The cast and crew of Strike Back are back together in Malaysia filming season seven of the Sky Original series.

Set to return to our screens in early 2019, Section 20’s Warren Brown, (Thomas ‘Mac’ McAllister), Daniel MacPherson (Samuel Wyatt), and Alin Sumarwata (Gracie Novin) will be reprising their roles.

Joining the cast is Jamie Bamber as Colonel Alexander Coltrane alongside Yasemin Allen who will play disavowed Russian agent Katrina Zarkova.

'Twists and turns'

Broken up into 10 episodes, the new series kicks off with a Russian jet crash in the middle of the South China. It’s Section 20’s job to investigate but they get caught up in a conflict and are forced to work together with a rogue Russian operative.

Jack Lothian, writer and executive producer, said “We’re delighted to be back with Sky and Cinemax for a new season of Strike Back; we have fantastic actors and crew that work incredibly hard to provide big screen action for the small screen, with all the drama, high stakes, and mayhem that involves, and I can’t wait for the audience to see the twists and turns we’ve got lined up.”

Get ready for some high drama involving the Malaysian police, an Indian businesswoman and a conspiracy that threatens to push the world to the brink of global conflict.

Strike Back is a co-production between Sky and Cinemax and will be produced by Left Bank Pictures. The series is directed by Bill Eagles, Paul Wilmshurst and Steve Shill and produced by Nuala O’Leary, Lawrence Cochran and Andy Morgan.
