Watch The Marvelous Mrs Maisel for free this weekend on Amazon Prime Video

Friday, January 12th 2018 by Oprah Flash

Want a break from the January sale? So do we, and in time for the weekend we’ve got some good news about a free treat.

To celebrate winning two Golden Globes, Amazon Prime Video is letting you watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for free this weekend on the Amazon Prime Video app without having to sign up for a membership.

From now until 11.59pm on Monday 15 January you can stream the whole first season of the Amazon Original comedy series online, on your TV or on your laptop/tablet.

The show recently won a Golden Globe for the Best Musical or Comedy TV Series and Rachel Brosnahan, the leading actress who brings Mrs. Maisel to life, won her first Golden Globe in the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series category.

Sadly, there hasn’t been much hype about this show which is a shame because it’s hilariously funny yet smart with an engaging plot line.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tells the story of Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950’s housewife living in New York. She’s got it all, the perfect husband, two kids and a swanky Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting her family for Yom Kippur dinner.

All of a sudden her dream life is turned upside and to cope with it all heading south, she transforms from humble housewife to a stand-up comic.

You may recognise Rachel Brosnahan from House of Cards. She’s joined on screen by Golden Globe winner and three-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as Midge’s father Abe Weissman, Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Susie Meyerson, Michael Zegen (Boardwalk Empire) as Midge’s husband Joel Maisel and Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) as Midge’s mother, Rose Weissman.

You won’t have to sign up to Amazon Prime but you will need to sign in to your standard Amazon account to watch it. After your free weekend, if you liked the show and want to see how the content on Amazon Prime Video compares to Netflix, you might as well make the most of the free 30-day trial.

If you decide you like it and want to keep the subscription you’ll pay £7.99 a month. The service has a range of TV Shows, movies and documentaries for you to stream such as The Walking Dead, Mr Robot and Peppa Pig.

You can watch Amazon Prime Video at home or on the go by downloading it onto your Android or Apple device. It also can be watched through an Amazon Fire TV Stick or on an Amazon Fire tablet.

Having Prime membership will also give you access to Prime Music, let you buy concert tickets on Prime Live Events, have unlimited reading on a selection of books through Prime Reading as well as unlimited One-Day Delivery on items bought from Amazon.
