Free data for unlimited social media use on Voxi, Vodafone's new mobile network
Vodafone is launching a new mobile network offering “today’s young generation” unlimited access to sites such as Instagram and Facebook.
The new brand, VOXI, will be available from 8 September and offers users unlimited texts and calls on a rolling 30-day plan which means you are able to opt in or out at any time.
Users will also be able to use Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Snapchat and Viber as much as they like without eating into their monthly data allowance.
Initially offering three 4G Data plans, VOXI’s smallest package starts at £10 a month which will give you 2GB of data plus the unlimited social media perks, calls and texts.
For £20 you get 15GB of data. The provider will soon roll out new music and video streaming passes so watch this space.
Dan Lambrou, head of VOXI, said: “Why should young people make do with the same mobile plans as everyone else, when they use their phones differently and often can’t access the best deals?
“We’ve worked with hundreds of people aged 25 and under, and have really listened to them. They are a generation that’s tired of being stereotyped and talked at.
“We created VOXI, a transparent new mobile service that gives our audience a platform to connect to the things that matter to them, whatever they’re into.”
Nick Jeffery, CEO of Vodafone UK, said: “Vodafone has been working hard to understand the specific needs of our customers.
“We know today’s young generation use their phones in a completely different way, with social media at the very centre of their lives.
“They want services that put their needs first. VOXI gives young people just that: access to the content and channels they love, simple and cost-effective price plans, and a mobile network they can count on.”
EE has also recently launched a campaign to target a younger market by supplying six months of free Apple Music streaming. Their advert stars Footloose actor Kevin Bacon on a plane singing along to songs by Stormzy and Little Mix.
It has been a busy year for Vodafone, in June it installed new beam-forming technology which has been described as the building block of 5G.
