This Motorola Moto Z2 Play deal has a free JBL speaker mod on Vodafone

Thursday, January 18th 2018 by Marc Shoffman

Listen up! Here is a mobile handset offer to shout about. You can now get a Motorola Moto Z2 Play with a free JBL speaker mod on Vodafone.

The phone forms part of the Motorola Moto range, offering add-ons that you clip to the phone, called Mods, for extras such as playing music or gaming. There is even a projector.

You usually have to pay for the extra Mods but Vodafone is currently offering a free JBL speaker Mod on pay monthly contracts. This is probably the most useful of all the Mods.

The speaker, usually on sale for around £60, boosts the typically tinny sound you get on any smartphone into stereo and comes with its own stand, perfect for propping up on the kitchen table while you dance away.

This offers a more attractive option than Bluetooth speakers as there is less to carry around and you don’t have to worry about pairing. It also means you don’t have to hold it in your palm or lean it against a wall when trying to watch a programme or video call.

Another benefit is it comes with its own 10 hours of battery life. But it does increase the thickness of the phone, meaning it may be less comfortable to carry around in your pocket.

Moto Z2 Play from £22 a month

The phone itself comes with 64GB of storage and gives you up to 30 hours of battery life. You can use a turbo or wireless charger Mod on the move to recharge. There's a 5-megapixel front camera and a wide-angle lens for selfies, or you can snap on the 360 Camera Mod for even more dynamic shots.

You can get dancing or conference calling, whatever floats your boat from a pick of eight Vodafone plans. For £28 a month you get 1GB of data or for £34 a month you can get 4GB on its Red Extra deals.

There is also a 16GB version for £40 a month. All have an upfront £9 charge and offer unlimited calls and texts.

Another option for film, music or sport lovers is the Red Entertainment tariff. Vodafone offers 8GB of data on this deal for £40 a month. You get the usual unlimited texts and minutes as well as a 24-month subscription to Spotify, Sky Sports or NOW TV. Not a bad way to use those speakers.

There is also a 60GB version for £52 a month. Both have a £9 upfront charge.

You can also get the Motorola phone using the Vodafone Essential package. For £24 a month you can get 500MB, 500 minutes and unlimited texts, or for half the data and minutes you would pay £22 a month. Both charge £99 upfront.

All these deals come with Vodafone global roaming and are on 24-month contracts.
