Free Samsung Gear VR with the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 phones on Sky Mobile
The hype around the new iPhone X is still fresh in the air but for customers who are die-hard Android fans (like me) Sky Mobile has announced new deals for the latest Samsung handsets, including a free Samsung Gear VR.
Any customer signing up for one of the new Samsung Galaxy phones on a 24 or 30-month contract will get a free virtual reality device worth £119.
This offer is now valid and lasts until Thursday 16 November on any new sign ups. To get the device you have to add the free Samsung Gear VR to your basket when buying the deal online.
The Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 all come with the virtual reality device under the new deal.
Sky is also giving away a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 with the Samsung Galaxy A5 for £20 with the 500MB tariff.
The tablet is also included with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and available across all of Sky Mobile's tariffs.
Sky Mobile offers two types of mobile packages, Swap 12 and Swap 24. The first runs for 24 months but allows you to upgrade to a new phone every year. The second package lasts for 30 months and costs less each month. This option allows customers to swap to a new handset every two years.
Customers can also choose to change their tariff for a mix of data, calls and texts to suit their needs, or roll-over unused data to save it for a time that you may need it.
Existing Sky TV customers get free unlimited calls and texts with any data plans. For non-Sky TV customers unlimited texts and calls are £10 a month.
What is the Gear VR?
The Samsung Gear VR is Samsung’s first virtual reality headset with a controller. The Gear VR makes it easier for customers, especially gamers, to enjoy a higher quality virtual reality experience.
It has a curved design, a convenient one-hand control and better motion interaction so users won’t have to move their heads as much to enjoy the full experience.
The Touchpad on the controller provides quicker selection and interaction in VR apps, allowing different forms of motion, including the ability to point, drag and drop, tilt, shoot, along with other actions.
The device has a ‘secure grip’ which Samsung says ensures comfortable play especially during the most active movements.
For an ‘expansive viewing experience’, the Gear VR with controller has 42mm lenses with an 101 degree field of view and ‘advanced distortion correction technology’ to reduce the risk of motion sickness.Free device when you get the Samsung Galaxy S8 handsets from Sky Mobile
