Free trip to Japan up for grabs when you pre-register with EE for the Sony Xperia XZ2
Fancy getting your hands on the latest Sony Xperia XZ2? What if you could also visit the Sony HQ in Japan?
EE is offering anyone who pre-registers their interest in the new Sony handset between 27 February and 21 March a chance to win a once in a lifetime trip to Japan. You will be entered into the prize draw, which also includes a visit to Sony’s HQ.
The new device is due for release on 6th April, but will be open to pre-orders on EE from 22 March.
EE hasn’t released any pricing yet but says devices will be available with Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling on a range of plans, including EE Max, which offers inclusive access to the BT Sport app for the duration of the contract and the ability to use their call, text and data allowance in 53 destinations across the world, including the US, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.
You are also getting access to the widest 4G network coverage on EE. Customers can register their interest on EE’s website.
This isn’t the only option for getting your hands on the Sony Xperia XZ2. Three has also said it will offer the Sony XZ2 with pre-orders opening on 16th March.
You will also be able to get the device on O2’s Refresh tariffs in the coming weeks and it is also offering cashback for those who trade in an old handset through 02 Recycle. You could get up to £240 for the Sony Xperia XZ1.
If it’s just too long of a wait for the new flagship phone, you can buy it’s older brother the Sony Xperia XZ1 from EE for £34 a month and £50 upfront. This gives you 1GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts with three months of free access to the BT Sport app.
What’s so good about the XZ2?
Samsung may be hogging the limelight with the launch of the S9, but it is also worth paying attention to the launch of Sony’ new flagship device.
It comes in tough Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back and offers a full 5.8inch full HD screen, bigger than its predecessors with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The new device is also 20% faster than the XZ1 thanks to the Qualcomm® Snapdragon 845 chipset. The handset is even water-resistant and can be charged wirelessly.
On the audio side, Sony has boosted its front speakers and offers a new Dynamic Vibration System that aims to enhance the user’s viewing or gaming experience by shaking the device in time with the content being used.
In terms of the all-important camera, you get a 19MP camera on the back with super slo-mo technology and 5MP on the front.
Film makers get a decent deal here with the world’s first 4K HDR video recording and there is a cool 3D Creator on the front and main cameras, so now you can scan yourself or your surroundings and print it or share it in 3D on social media.
Storage starts well at 64GB storage as standard, and you can boost this to 400GB using a microSD card.
