Goliath season two comes to Amazon Prime Video in June
Amazon Prime subscribers eager to see Billy Bob Thornton reprise his Golden Globe-winning role in Goliath don’t have much longer to wait.
The second series of the Prime Original will be available to stream from Friday 15 June with Thornton once again starring as Billy McBride, the role that earned him the 2017 Golden Globe for best actor in a drama series.
After winning a huge verdict in the Borns Tech case, McBride is reluctantly pulled back into the law when his friend’s 16-year-old son is arrested for a double homicide. But as McBride and his team, including Patty, played by Nina Arianda (Florence Foster Jenkins), investigate the case they begin to uncover a deadly conspriracy in LA’s seedy underworld.
Goliath season two also stars Mark Duplass (Room 104) as a developer looking to give Los Angeles a distinct skyline, Morris Chestnut (The Best Man) as the chief deputy district attorney with a grudge against McBridge, and Ana De La Reguera (Narcos, Nacho Libre) as a city councilwoman hoping to become LA’s first Latina mayor.
Tania Raymonde (Lost) and Diana Hopper (Casual) return as Brittany Gold and Denise McBride respectively.
'The gritty side'
“We’re excited to bring back a new season of Goliath starring Golden Globe Winner Billy Bob Thornton,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. “This chapter tells a powerfully suspenseful, multilayered story that explores the gritty side of a broken political and legal system.”
Goliath season one is currently available to watch in full if you fancy catching up before getting stuck into the eight-episode second season next month.
Other highly-anticipated series coming to Amazon Prime include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, which has already been commissioned for a second season despite the first not making its debut until August, and a third season of The Man in the High Castle.
Prime subscribers can also look forward a second season of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, easily one of the biggest surprise TV hits of 2017, and Amazon’s big budget Lord of the Rings series, although we don’t have release dates for either series just yet.
