ITV and Channel 5 TV shows available on demand on Sky Go mobile app
Mobile TV app Sky Go now features on demand ITV and Channel 5 programmes.
Live streams of the two channels were launched on Sky Go last year, but now users can watch shows such as Gotham and The Only Way Is Essex whenever they want.
Sky Go now features shows from more than 70 channels and has 2.6m registered customers regularly using the service.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s brand director, TV products, wrote in a blog post on the Sky website: “Since we introduced live channels from ITV and Channel 5 last year they’ve been a hit with customers.
“Die hard TOWIE fans can catch up with the latest dramas unfolding between Chloe and Jake. While fans of talent shows can keep up with the new series of Britain’s Got Talent, bringing anything from cabaret to contortionists to watch when you want it.
“There’s also Channel 5’s Gotham, The Gadget Show and Home and Away to enjoy this spring.”
Mr Bradley-Jones said Sky was continuing to bring customers TV they want to watch “on their terms, whether that’s watching the latest Sky Box Set or catching up on recently missed episodes”.
He said Sky has seen record-breaking on demand downloads in the UK and Ireland since the start of the year – almost 300m.
“We know customers love to use Sky Go in many ways whether that’s on the way to work or around the home,” he added.
“It’s all part of our commitment to make Sky+ and Sky Go the ultimate entertainment experience.”
Last week, Sky announced that its 3D programmes and films will be available on demand from June.
Mr Bradley-Jones said: “From June, Sky 3D is going fully on demand. From the latest 3D movie premieres like Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men Days of Future Past and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, to the very best in natural history with documentaries like Natural History Museum Alive, it will all be ready and waiting for our customers to view whenever it suits them.”
Sky 3D has premiered original content including Hollywood movies and wildlife documentaries by Sir David Attenborough since it was launched in 2010.
