Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier comes to Dave in May

Tuesday, May 8th 2018 by Oprah Flash

Are you a bit of an obsessive compulsive worrier? So is comedian Jon Richardson and in his new show we’ll see him put a humorous twist on the small bugbears that keep us all up at night.

The show premieres next week (16 May) on Dave and will see Jon joined in the studio each week by a pair of comedians, his wife Lucy Beaumont and a panel of experts.

Kicking off the first episode is Josh Widdicombe and Suzi Ruffell, who will be followed by the likes of Jack Dee, Romesh Ranganathan, Sara Pascoe, Desiree Birch, Kerry Godliman, Nish Kumar, Rob Beckett, Jonathan Ross, Joe Wilkinson, Victoria Coren-Mitchell, James Acaster, David O'Doherty and Ivo Graham in subsequent weeks.

So what does Jon worry about? Oh, you know the usual stuff like, the prospect of his wife leaving him for a robot or an impending nuclear apocalypse.

Impending nuclear apocalypse

To attempt to put these fears to bed Jon and his guests use hilarious demonstrations and an illustrative archive to test just how serious each worry actually is, before adding it to Jon’s Worry Index - a high-tech digital log of every anxiety in existence.

If you’ve enjoyed the dry wit he brings to 8 Out of 10 Cats, then Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier will be right up your street.

Suffering from obsessive compulsive personality disorder, Jon has turned it into one of his biggest strengths. For his first solo gig in Edinburgh, his repertoire was based entirely on his struggles with the disorder. The audience were so entertained he was then nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival, off the back of it.
