'More from Impact Wrestling on Challenge TV' promises wrestler

Friday, January 31st 2014 by Dean Reilly

Grappling fans should expect more shows from wrestling promotion TNA on Challenge TV, a British-born wrestling star has said.

The digital TV channel, which broadcasted the first ever live episode of Impact Wrestling to be shown in the UK before the US on January 30th, will also air double TV tapings from Manchester and a pay-per-view event filmed in Birmingham on February 2nd.

Speaking to Cable.co.uk, Impact Wrestling star Rockstar Spud said: “Challenge are awesome to Impact Wrestling. They really put us at the forefront of their channel. We can’t thank them enough. We’re on there every Sunday at 9, we’ve got Explosion on a Wednesday. They do so much for us. It’s like an Impact Wrestling channel with game shows around it, I really believe that – and there’s going to be more from Impact Wrestling on the channel later in the year. It’s going to be awesome.”

Spud, real name James Curtin, who will be performing in his home town of Birmingham on Sunday, added: “I used to work opposite the NIA and I'd sit there daydreaming, looking out my office window thinking: “I’d love to wrestle there. Man, if I wrestled there I’d do this and that…”. I’m probably going to go insane when I wrestle there, I honestly can’t wait. I’ve got so many friends and family there. It’s a big night for me.”

He added: "It’s a massive honour. I’m going to ask the council for my own star on Broad Street. Forget Ozzy Osbourne. Forget Duran Duran... If I come back to Birmingham and they accept me as one of their own, I’m going to be made."
