Netflix orders three new shows from comedian Gabriel 'Fluffy' Iglesias
Get ready to have your funny bone tickled as Netflix has announced plans to breath life into three new comedies created by the all-time funny guy, Gabriel 'Fluffy' Iglesias.
The line-up will include a multi-cam comedy series and two stand-up comedy specials. Netflix hasn’t confirmed the release dates but production is underway.
The multi-cam series is named after its creator, Mr Iglesias, in which the comedian plays a good-natured teacher at the school that he once attended. Everyone has had that deputy headteacher who they just couldn’t get on with, in this case it’s Mr Iglesias' job to teach a group of gifted but misfit kids to reach their full potential. Along the way he save them from being ‘counseled out’ by the school bully, the Deputy Headteacher.
Three new comedy shows
Broken up into ten 30-minute episodes, the series is a Netflix Original Production with Gabriel Iglesias serving as executive producer with Kevin Hench (Cristela, Last Man Standing).
Fondly known as the Fluffyguy, Gabriel Iglesias, said: "When I was a kid, I wanted to be either a stand-up comedian or a teacher. Thanks to Netflix for supporting both of my career aspirations.”
The first of two stand-up comedy specials will be taped during Iglesias’ current world tour 'One Show Fits All' and the second on a future date. If you’re wondering, who is Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias, check out a snippet of one of his shows:
So who is the Fluffy guy?
Netflix has described him as one of the world’s most successful stand-up comedians. Since the birth of his career as a comedian 20 years ago, he has grown into a household name starring in movies and performing to sold-out venues across the globe.
He’s quite a hit on social media with over 365,000,000 views on YouTube and 10 million followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. He has the distinct honor of being one of the few to headline and sell-out Madison Square Garden in New York and Staples Center in LA.
You may recognise him from his stint as Tobias in Magic Mike XXL and A Haunted House 2. Although there’ll be a bit of a wait for the three new shows, Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Sorry for What I Said When I Was Hungry is available now on Netflix.
Netflix offers a free 30-day trial so you can test it out. If you like it then it costs £5.99 a month for the basic subscription. For the standard package with HD streaming and the ability to watch it on two screens at a time it’s £7.99 a month.
