New and refurbished iPhone deals from giffgaff including the SE from £11.62 a month
Budget-conscious iPhone enthusiasts can get their hands on the iPhone SE for just £11.62 a month thanks to a new offer from giffgaff.
The operator is offering a refurbished 32GB version of the model if you pay £25 upfront and commit to a 24 month minimum repayment term. You can also pay for the phone outright for £259.
If you need more storage, then giffgaff is offering a 128GB variant for £16.58 a month, subject to the same two-year period. It will cost you £299 to buy the phone in one go.
On top of that you’ll need a price plan to go with your almost-new phone.
giffgaff’s ‘goodybag’ tariffs start at £10 a month for 3GB of data and 100 minutes. For £12 you get 4GB and 750 minutes, for £15 you get 6GB and 1,000 minutes and for £18 a month you get 9GB and 2,000 minutes.
The top of the range plan costs £20 and you get unlimited minutes as well as unlimited data.
All plans come with unlimited texts, so you’ll always be able to get in touch
Pre-owned handsets for a knockdown price
Apple debuted the four-inch iPhone SE in 2016 as a spiritual successor to the iPhone 5C. It is pitched at those who want a smaller iPhone, complete with the latest version of the iOS operating system and upgraded innards, without the bells and whistles and the price tag of the latest flagship.
It boasts a 64-bit A9 processor, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor that can be used to unlock the device and make payments using Apple Pay, a 12 megapixel rear camera and a FaceTime HD front facing camera for quality voice calls and selfies.
It comes in four colours – gold, grey, silver and rose gold – so there should be something for everyone.
giffgaff customers can get their hands on a range of pre-owned handsets at a knockdown price. A 16GB iPhone 5S costs £3.68 a month or £99 up front, an 16GB Phone 6S is £8.64 a month or £199 upfront, while a 32GB iPhone 7 is £14.60 or £319 up front.
The operator uses O2’s network for its voice, text and data services meaning you benefit from the same 4G coverage, while the devices come unlocked. While you still have to commit to the 24-month repayment plan, you can change your tariff from month to month should you find more data.
giffgaff was launched in 2009 as the “mobile network run by you”. This means customers can earn “payback points” for helping with customer service tasks and can be exchanged for cash via PayPal or for account credit, making its plans even cheaper.
