New comedy channel NextUp comes to Amazon Prime Video

Friday, November 3rd 2017 by Oprah Flash

NextUp, an online streaming service dedicated to stand-up comedy, has announced it is joining the growing line-up of Amazon Channels.

If you’re looking for a good laugh and some jokes to share with your mates you can add the service to your list of subscriptions on Amazon Prime Video.

NextUp is a channel that primarily streams recorded stand-up comedy shows. You’ll find some household names like Richard Herring (pictured) with a mix of up-and-coming comedians like Fern Brady, Tony Law and Marcel Lucont.

It launched as a streaming service in November 2016 and is the brainchild of the comics responsible for the ComComedy YouTube Channel. Since its debut, NextUp has filmed more than 40 original shows, and releases a new special each week.

Sarah Henley, the co-founder of NextUp, said: “We are delighted to be launching on Amazon Channels and we look forward to reaching more comedy fans than ever before. Amazon Prime has one of the biggest streaming memberships both in the UK and Worldwide and we are over the moon to be part of that service.”

The Amazon Channels feature launched on Amazon Prime Video in May this year. Channels like Discovery, Eurosport Player and ITV Hub have all signed up to feature on the service. You can pick and choose which TV channels to add to your Prime Video account as individual subscriptions without having to buy a bundle.

'Reaching more comedy fans'

You can also cancel a single TV channel subscription without affecting the other channels and still keep your Prime Video account.

To add NextUp to your Amazon Channels list it will cost £3.50 a month.

If don't have a Amazon Prime Video but want to see what all the hype is about you can test it out with a free 30-day trial. If you decide you like it and want to keep the subscription you’ll pay £7.99 a month. The service has a range of TV series, movies and documentaries for you to stream such as The Walking Dead, The Grand Tour and Peppa Pig.

You can watch Amazon Prime Video at home or on the go by downloading it onto your Android or Apple device. It also can be watched on a Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire tablets.

Having a Prime Membership will also give you access to Prime Music, let you buy concert tickets on Prime Live Events, have unlimited reading on a selection books through Prime Reading as well as unlimited One-Day Delivery on items bought from the Amazon website.
