Another exclusive show comes to Virgin Media's Full House TV

Wednesday, December 13th 2017 by Oprah Flash

We’re counting down the days until Christmas and Virgin Media is releasing a new historical drama called ‘Will’, exclusively on Virgin TV.

Described as wild, rowdy and seductive, the new show is set in 16th century London and you’ll only be able to watch it if you’ve got the Full House TV bundle.

Ever wondered what the young Shakespeare was like in his twenties before he wrote iconic plays and gave us phrases like ‘all that glitters is not gold’? Was he a rebellious rogue or hapless romantic? 'Will' explores the lost years of the young playwright as he finds his feet and fortune in the ‘punk-rock’ lifestyle of Elizabethan London.

The first episode of the 10-part series will be launched just after Christmas on Thursday 28 December then a new episode will follow every Thursday.

The crude and funny series was created by Craig Pearce and Baz Luhrmann who are just some of the brains behind some contemporary adaptations that you may know and love such as The Great Gatsby (2013), Romeo and Juliet (1996) and Moulin Rouge! (2001).

The story of a young man chasing his dreams to change the the world with his words comes to life in this TNT original series. It sets the scene of the start of Shakespeare’s career and how a chance meeting at a theatre set in motion one of the most famous actor-writer partnerships. Will manages to sell one of his plays to James Burbage’s theatre which leads to a friendship with the owner’s daughter, Alice Burbage.

All the while, as a devout Catholic, Will struggles to stay true his beliefs as he gets caught up in London’s punk-rock theatre scene. Virgin Media says: "The juxtaposition between the protagonist’s focused yet tortured brilliance and his reckless lustful pursuits delivers a dynamic, highly addictive viewing experience by any measure."

'Will' is Virgin Media’s ninth exclusive UK launch and follows in the footsteps of box sets, Kingdom, Ash vs Evil Dead, Imposters and more recently Good Behavior. Along with all Virgin TV Exclusives it is available On Demand through the Virgin TV V6 or TiVo boxes.

You’ll also be able to watch it on your phone or tablet on the Virgin TV Anywhere app.
