NOW TV launches UK's cheapest streaming stick and Sky Sports pass flash sale

Friday, February 23rd 2018 by Steve McCaskill

Nothing to watch on tv? Exhausted your Netflix watch list? Upset the Winter Olympics are nearly over?

Then you’d do well to get your hands on the new NOW TV Smart Stick for just £14.99 – the UK’s cheapest streaming stick.

NOW TV is the streaming service from Sky, offering a chance to get some of its premium content without the cost or long contract associated with a Sky subscription. There’s no need to install a satellite dish either.

The new stick is the size of a USB flash drive and plugs into your TV’s HDMI port. It’s based on Roku’s technology and there is a selection of more than 50 apps to download, including BBC iPlayer, All 4, ITV Hub and Spotify. And for the first time, NOW TV users can get UKTV Play on their devices, allowing them to watch the best catch-up TV from Dave, Yesterday, Really and Drama.

You can also search for programmes using voice search. Simply say the name of a show, film or actor, and the box will do the rest. There is also live pause for premium channels, so you won’t miss a minute of the action.

But of course the main reason to get NOW TV is the Sky content and you can buy the stick with a number of discounted bundles.

Get a Smart Stick and the Entertainment Pass for £19.99

A NOW TV Smart Stick with a two-month Entertainment Pass, with 11 channels including Sky Atlantic and Sky One, as well as more than 300 boxsets, is £19.99. Or you can get a one-month Cinema Pass, which provides access to more than 1,000 films, with the stick for the same price.

But the best deal is probably the one-month sport pass, which gives you all 10 Sky Sports channels, showing a mixture of live football, rugby, golf, Formula 1, darts, cricket, boxing and other sports, for £29.99. That’s a saving of 90%.

NOW TV is available on more than 60 devices, including iPhone, Android and Windows, and if you don’t need or want a NOW TV device, then there is another offer just for you.

A two-month Sky Sports pass is being offered for £40 (or £20 a month) - a saving of 40%. This is a limited time offer, so hurry in time to watch the League Cup final, the US Masters golf and the start of the Formula One season.

The normal cost of an Entertainment Pass is £7.99 a month, while the usual price for a Cinema Pass is £9.99. A Sky Sports day pass is £7.99, a week pass is £12.99, and a month pass is £33.99.
