Now TV launches Kids Pass for £2.99 per month

Wednesday, May 4th 2016 by Hannah Langston

Online TV streaming service Now TV has added a children’s TV pass to its content offering.

Available from 21 June, the Kids Pass will offer children’s TV programming without the need for a subscription, for £2.99 per month.

The Kids Pass includes six dedicated live TV channels, as well as thousands of episodes and box sets from Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, NickToons, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Cbeebies, CBBC and Milkshake.

Children will be able to watch popular shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol and The Powerpuff Girls on demand.

Later this year, they can watch Morph, following the recent news that Sky is commissioning new episodes of the Aardvark Animations series.

Families who purchase the pass will be shown a new space-themed interface where new characters Dixie, Norbert and Jessie interact with children on screen.

Other new features include picture led navigation – enabling kids to identify programmes by the characters and episode imagery, a favourites rail and next episode auto-play.

Parental controls

Now TV also operates parental controls which include: a screen lock to prevent children accidently changing shows on a mobile or tablet; an ‘escape prompt’ which stops them from exiting the service by mistake; and a parental PIN which allows parents to set restrictions on what they watch.

Gidon Katz, director of Sky-owned Now TV, said: “We want to make sure that everyone in the family gets the best entertainment experience possible and that includes our younger viewers.

“We’ve created a vibrant, engaging world just for kids, so finding an episode of Dora the Explorer will be almost as fun as watching it.

"By creating a separate enhanced Now TV Kids Pass our customers have even more choice when it comes to selecting the shows that are right for them, all with no contract.”

The launch of the Now TV Kids Pass sees Nickelodeon, Nick Jr and The Disney Channel move out of the Now TV Entertainment Pass.

In addition, from today, Nat Geo Wild will be added as a new channel to the Entertainment Pass.

The Entertainment Pass offers access to over 250 box sets and 14 channels including Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Discovery, MTV, Comedy Central and ITV Encore, for £6.99 per month.

All Now TV passes come with a free 14-day trial.
