O2 customers get early access to Channel 4 TV shows online

O2 customers are being given access to popular Channel 4 shows 48 hours before they air as part of a new collaboration between the network and broadcaster.

The new partnership between O2 Priority, the network’s loyalty programme, and Channel 4’s All 4, gives access to ten hit Channel 4 and E4 series including Peep Show and Made in Chelsea two days before they air.

All 4, which has replaced 4OD, is Channel 4’s new mobile, all-in-one digital hub which hosts its linear channels, digital content and other online services, including mobile streaming, in one place.

The new partnership with O2 Priority, described as the first time a mobile network and broadcaster have teamed up in this way, sees O2 customers given a code which will allow them 48-hour access to the 10 shows on their mobile, tablet or PC.

The partnership, announced last month, started on Saturday with Made in Chelsea.

Other shows available to O2 Priority customers throughout the year include Fresh Meat, Peep Show, First Dates, Gadget Man with Richard Ayoade (pictured), Friday Night Dinner and My Mad Fat Diary.

Nina Bibby, marketing and consumer director at O2, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Channel 4, a brand that represents many of the same values as O2, and most importantly, resonates well with many of our customers."

'More choice'

She said the new partnership brings customers "the things they love", by giving them some of their favourite TV shows 48 hours ahead of general release.

"We are always looking for new ways to offer customers relevant, tailored offers through Priority based on their individual preferences," she added.

"This partnership provides more choice and means that there should be something which is relevant to each and every one of our 24 million customers."

The premieres will also be available to Channel 4 programme superfans – determined by their actual on-demand viewing behaviour.
