OnePlus 6 now available in limited edition Silk White

Tuesday, June 5th 2018 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

The OnePlus 6, unveiled last month at a packed launch event in London, is now available in limited edition Silk White.

The ‘Bullets Wireless’ earphones announced at the launch event are also now available to buy.

OnePlus describes its new phone as “the company’s boldest design to date” but with its all-glass body and big screen featuring a notch to house the front-facing camera, it’d be fair to say there’s a whiff of the iPhone X/Huawei P20/LG G7 about it.

The OnePlus 6, which is available exclusively from O2 in the UK, was launched with a choice of two colours – Midnight Black and Mirror Black – but now anyone buying the phone will get a third option in the drop-down menu, Silk White.

According to OnePlus, there’s a number of intricate techniques involved in producing the limited edition finish. Pearl powder is mixed into the coating to produce a subtle shimmering effect and six layers of coating are needed to achieve the phone’s “smooth frosted” texture.

The OnePlus 6 in Silk White, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is available from O2 with prices starting at £52 a month and £9.99 upfront, or direct from OnePlus for £519.

OnePlus launches Bullets Wireless earphones

Also available to buy from OnePlus at £69 are the new Bullets Wireless headphones, which promise an “exceptional audio experience” and will give you five hours of use from just a 10-minute charge.

The clever ‘magnetic control’ feature means you can stop your music simply by clipping your earphones together. The music will then start playing again automatically when you separate them. You could also use your Bullets with Google Assistant to get directions or reminders without taking your phone out of your pocket.

Donate to Cancer Research UK and win a OnePlus 6

There is another way to get hold of a OnePlus 6 – and help raise money for a good cause at the same time.

Anyone donating multiples of £5 to Cancer Research UK via Christophe Langlois’ JustGiving page will be entered into a competition to win a top spec OnePlus 6 in Midnight Black.

Christophe queued up for 12 hours at both the OnePlus 6 launch and pre-sale pop-up event in order to become the first person in the UK to own one of the devices – and it’s that phone that he’s now giving away for charity. You’ve got until 21 June to take part.
