Orange raises broadband speeds and launched new price plans

Wednesday, October 21st 2009 by Cable.co.uk

Communications firm Orange has announced it is both raising its broadband speeds and launching four new price plans.

Home and mobile broadband provider Orange has announced it is planning to launch new price plans in an effort to boost its subscriber numbers.

The company has revealed it is to unveil four new fixed line plans with 18-month contracts, which are expected to cost between £6.50 and £13.50 a month and may also include some unlimited download usage options.

According to the Times, the company is also raising its speeds to up to 20Mbps in an effort to take its customer numbers back over the one million mark.

Asif Aziz, director of broadband and home for Orange, told the newspaper: "Irrespective of where you live, you will get the fastest speed your line can handle."

Customers will also be given the chance to check their available speed before signing up to the deals, he added.

News of the plans has come after Orange confirmed the launch of new unlimited mobile broadband solutions designed specifically for businesses.
