Plusnet offers more than double data in £10 Black Friday SIM-only deal

Friday, November 17th 2017 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

Plusnet is getting in the Black Friday spirit by offering more than double the data on its £10 SIM-only contract.

For the next two weeks, £10 a month will get you 5GB of data instead of the usual 2GB. You also get unlimited minutes and unlimited texts on a rolling 30-day contract with this deal.

There’s very little to choose between the two plans, but Plusnet is also offering 4GB of data, 1,500 minutes and unlimited texts for £9 a month, again on a 30-day rolling contract.

We’re not entirely sure why these two very similar offers are being run alongside each other, but there you go.

What we do know is that this deal is much more generous than Sky’s double data offer, which is also being launched today to celebrate Black Friday.

Sky is giving away double data on its two lowest-priced SIMs, so £5 a month gets you 1GB instead of the usual 500MB and £10 a month gets you 2GB instead of 1GB.

But unlimited calls and texts aren’t included unless you already have Sky TV at home. If you don’t, they’ll cost you an extra £10 a month or you’ll be paying 10p a minute and 10p a text to ‘pay as you use’.

iPhone SE is £10 a month for Sky TV customers

Also as part of its Black Friday sale, Sky is offering the iPhone SE for £10 a month – but only if you sign up to a Sky TV package or re-contract if you're already a customer.

If you are, this represents a £5 saving on the usual price of £15. This offer includes 1GB of data for the price of 500MB and unlimited calls and texts.

The iPhone SE is generally the cheapest iPhone on the market and gives you the power of a bigger device in the smaller chassis of the old iPhone 5. It has a 12MP camera, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on the standard model.

Sky has all the details of this deal on its website, but says that to actually get it you'll have to phone up and say "iPhone offer".

If you've been thinking about joining Sky TV anyway and happen to also be in the market for a new phone, you can the Original Bundle for £20 a month until 30 November and then add the iPhone SE on for an extra tenner.

The Original Bundle gives you 270 channels including Sky Atlantic, Sky 1, FOX and Sky Sports Mix. You'll also get a Sky Q box that will let you record three shows while watching a fourth, catch-up TV and access to the Sky Q app so you can watch live and on demand TV on a compatible phone or tablet.
