Production of Sky Atlantic's Tin Star season two is underway

Thursday, May 31st 2018 by Oprah Flash

Tin Star is set to return to Sky Atlantic next year with Tim Roth, Christina Hendricks, Genevieve O’Reilly and Abigail Lawrie all reprising their roles for season two.

Production of the show is already underway in Calgary in Canada, and we can expect to see the 10-part series on our screens in 2019. To watch it in the UK and Ireland, you’ll need Sky TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass.

The first series premiered in September last year, and is already one of Sky Atlantic’s best-performing original shows. According to statistics published by Sky, an average of 1.7 million people tuned in to watch each episode and the show received 16 million downloads and views.

'Strangely unsettling'

If you didn’t catch it the first time round you can now watch season one on demand on Sky TV or NOW TV. Taking place in a remote Canadian mountain town, Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks feature as the show’s protagonists in a tale of corruption, innocence, murder, grief and of all-consuming revenge.

For season two, John Lynch (The Fall, Sliding Doors), Anamaria Marinca (The Missing, Mars) and Jenessa Grant (The Handmaid’s Tale) join the all-star cast.

Tin Star creator Rowan Joffe and executive producer Alison Jackson said: “We are thrilled to be given a further opportunity to delve deeper into the characters we had such fun with in series one.

“A second series of Tin Star lets us build on the established world of Little Big Bear, but also gives the audience a glimpse of another intriguing community and provides us with a family who are strangely unsettling for our hero Jim Worth. We are delighted that John, Anamaria and Jenessa have joined our wonderful cast.”

How to get Sky Atlantic

NOW TV is Sky’s streaming service that lets you pick and choose what you want to watch each month without having to sign a contract. An Entertainment Pass will give you access to Sky Atlantic along with 10 other premium channels including Sky One and MTV.

If you sign up now, you can get two months of either a Sky Cinema or Entertainment pass for the price of one.

The Entertainment Pass is £7.99 a month and it’s just under a tenner (£9.99) for the Sky Cinema Pass.

Otherwise, there’s the NOW TV Smart Stick that allows your telly to connect to the internet. It’s £14.99 by itself or £19.99 with a two-month Entertainment Pass.

If you want the full monty that Sky TV has to offer and aren't scared of commitment, you can get an Entertainment Pack for £20 a month over an 18-month contract.
