Razer Phone, the 'phone for gamers', launches on Three this week

Monday, November 13th 2017 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

The Razer Phone hits the shelves later this week, but this isn’t going to be one of those articles in which we round up all the best deals from the UK’s mobile providers.

Why? Because it’s only being offered by one provider. Three announced a partnership with gaming firm Razer back in May and has bagged exclusive rights to stock what is being described as the smartphone for gamers.

The Razer Phone’s 5.7-inch screen uses UltraMotion technology to bring you sharp graphics with no lag or stuttering and has Dolby ATMOS sound coming through two front-facing speakers.

It has 8GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, has one of the largest battery capacities found in a smartphone – 4,000 mAH, and comes with 12MP dual cameras.

Three has announced a handful of pay monthly deals for the Razer Phone and, as you may expect for a phone marketed at gamers, they are aimed at your more data-hungry mobile user. There is also the option to buy the handset outright on pay as you go.

All of the tariffs for the Razer come with unlimited, or as Three likes to say “All-you-can-eat” minutes and texts and are on two-year contracts. You’ll also have to stump up £49 upfront no matter which one you pick.

The cheapest deal is £41 a month and at the moment gives you 12GB instead of the usual 4GB, which is probably going to be useful for all that gaming. The other deals give you even more data – there’s 30GB for £45 a month, 100GB for £49 a month and, if not even 100GB is going to be enough to satisfy your data needs, an all-you-can-eat option for £54 a month.

If you’d rather just pay the money upfront and not get tied into a contract, you can buy the Razer Phone on pay as you go for £594.99 with a £35 add-on. The add-on gives you unlimited data, 3,000 minutes and 3,000 texts to use within 30 days.

Outside of any add-ons, you’ll be paying 3p per minute, 2p per text and 1p per MB of data on pay as you go.

You can order the Razer Phone now and get it delivered to your home or to a Three store of your choice by Friday.
