Samsung Galaxy S7 deal now comes with free mini tablet on Sky Mobile

Wednesday, January 17th 2018 by Luke Albiges

What's better than having a Samsung Galaxy? Why, having two Samsung Galaxies, of course, and that's exactly what this new Sky deal will get you.

Right now, Sky is offering a free mini Galaxy tablet – the Galaxy Tab A 7”, to be more specific – when you pick the Galaxy S7 as your phone of choice when taking out a new pay monthly mobile contract with them.

The S8 might be the new hotness but that doesn't stop Samsung's previous model from remaining a darn fine piece of kit, and this is a great deal on what is widely considered to be one of the best handsets of recent years.

The cheapest option for getting this bundle comes in at £25 per month, which breaks down as £20 for the handset and £5 for the lowest data option available (currently 1GB, although there are also 2GB, 5GB and 10GB tiers above it in additional £5 increments).

It's worth noting that the 1GB and 2GB options are currently doubled from their standard 500MB and 1GB allocations as part of a promotion – there's no indication of when this might end, so those looking to get the most out of this deal would be encouraged to act fast, just in case the Double Data offer does suddenly disappear.

Existing Sky customers get unlimited calls and texts thrown in gratis, which is an extra £10 a month for non-Sky folks, who can instead choose to pay nothing up-front and just pay for the calls and texts they use.

Free Samsung Galaxy Tab A

As for the free tablet, the Galaxy Tab A typically retails for around £100 right now and it's Samsung's answer to the smaller devices like Amazon's Fire tablets.

It makes for a convenient alternative to lugging a larger, heavier tablet around in your bag, plus it's perfect to give to kids if you're wary of your fancy iPad being handed back to you all full of jam.

In fact Samsung seems to have realised this would be an appealing option – giving the Tab A to kids, that is, not filling iPads with jam – and the tablet sports a great Kids Mode, letting you tailor available apps for up to six individual younglings, restrict access to anything you don't want them fiddling with, disable notifications and place time limits on usage.

If you're after a different handset, Sky is also offering the latest iPhone and Galaxy models as part of this Swap24 deal, as well as some less flashy models at fantastic prices such as the Galaxy A3 for just £13 as we reported yesterday.
