The Samsung Galaxy S8 is £37.99 a month in EE's (not just for) January sale
Forget January sales. EE has a new offer that isn’t just for January but will take money off your bill over the length of your contract.
EE is offering a Samsung Galaxy S8 for £37.99 a month and £9.99 upfront on a 1GB plan, saving you £240 over the length of your contract. This is discounted from £47.99 a month previously.
This deal will get you a 64GB Samsung Galaxy S8 with unlimited minutes and texts on a 24-month contract using EE’s 4GEE plan.
EE also throws in three months of BT Sport for free and you can also get six months of Apple Music.
The BT Sport add-on is £5 a month at the end of the deal while Apple Music moves to £9.99, so you would need to factor these into the overall cost if you use them. You are able to cancel the add-ons at any time.
The Apple Music app won’t eat up your data but BT Sport will. This could quickly eat into your 1GB data so if you find you need more, you could get 3GB for £47.99 with the same minutes and texts plus 24 months of BT Sport for free.
Pay £52.99 a month and you can boost your data to 15GB or £57.99 will get you 40GB. Both these options also offer BT Sport for the duration of the contract and Apple Music for six months.
Fresh on the market
You will be getting Samsung’s flagship phone with facial recognition, a 12MP camera with dual-pixel autofocus and an attractive 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display.
It is still relatively fresh on the market, having been launched last Spring, but bear in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to be released at the end of next month so it could look relatively old by the end of the contract.
These are pretty attractive ways to get your hands on a Samsung Galaxy 8 if you have low data needs. There is an alternative if you are quick though, especially if you are a Sky TV customer.
Sky Mobile is currently offering a Samsung Galaxy S8 with no upfront cost, unlimited calls and texts plus 1GB of data for £27 a month on a 12 month deal for Sky TV customers. It normally includes a measly 500MB. Non-TV customers can get the free calls and minutes for an extra £10 a month, taking the price to £37 a month.
You would need to be quick though as this offer expires on Thursday.
If you find you have bigger data needs, there are more competitively priced deals than what EE is offering. Giffgaff has a deal for a 64GB handset with unlimited texts, minutes and data for £49.74 a month for 24 months. That is cheaper than EE’s 40GB deal but you will need to pay £50 upfront.
Alternatively, if you wanted to avoid paying anything upfront, Three charges £79 a month and you get unlimited minutes, texts and data for 24 months.
Buying a Samsung Galaxy S8 from EE, Three, giffgaff or a number of other places by 18 February will also bag you a nice little bonus – a pair of festival tickets worth £140.
