Samsung Galaxy S9 Sunrise Gold edition will launch on EE next month
Samsung has unveiled a Sunrise Gold version of its Galaxy S9 and S9+ handsets – and the new colour edition will be available exclusively from EE.
If you like the look of the S9 but have been waiting for this colour choice to come along, you’re going to have to wait just a little bit longer as the Sunrise Gold edition will be available to pre-order from 22 June and will be on sale from 29 June.
According to Samsung, this version of the phone is the first Samsung device to feature “a satin gloss finish which wraps the smartphone in a tranquil glow and glimmer”, while the colour “creates a feeling of both vibrancy and calm”. Make of that what you will.
“People want to be able to express their style and personality through their technology and colour is a big part of that personalisation,” said Younghee Lee, CMO and executive vice president of Samsung Electronics. “The new edition extends the colour offerings of Galaxy S9 and S9+ with a vibrant style that embrace a modern and classic feel.”
A Titanium Grey edition of the phone, which is launching exclusively with Carphone Warehouse in the UK, will also be available to pre-order from 22 June and to buy from 29 June.
Samsung's best-ever camera
The S9 and S9+ are already available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple. Both phones feature a camera with what Samsung calls a Super Speed Dual Pixel sensor and can combine 12 frames into one shot for the highest possible quality picture.
It also comes with super slow-mo capabilities, a low light camera and the integrated AR Emoji feature, which uses clever tech to help you create your very own avatar.
Prices for the Samsung Galaxy S9 on EE start at £44 a month plus £100 upfront for a basic 1GB plan that also comes with three months’ access to the BT Sport app. Bigger data packages offer better value for money, with £53 a month (and only £30 upfront) getting you 30GB of data to play with.
Carphone Warehouse has a large range of deals available for the S9 – starting at £30 a month and £159.99 upfront. That would put you on the Vodafone network but Carphone Warehouse also has deals available on O2 and EE.
Both the S9 and the S9+ will be available to buy in Sunset Gold directly from Samsung and other selected retailers from 24 August.
A Burgundy Red edition of the S9 is also being launched this month, but unfortunately for British Samsung fans it will only be available in Korea and China.
