Save up to £50 on Chromebook deals at Currys PC World

Monday, February 26th 2018 by Marc Shoffman

The Chromebook is an increasingly popular option for those on the hunt for a snazzy laptop.

You don’t get hit by the premium price tag of a Macbook but you get a quality Google-powered device at an affordable price.

A Chromebook is the perfect laptop for Google enthusiasts. It is geared towards working in the cloud and using the Chrome browser and apps. This means sacrificing large storage for working, playing and saving your content online.

Currys is currently offering three top deals that could help you get your hands on a Chromebook.

It has taken £30 off the price of the Acer Chromebook 14, listing it at £219.99 online. It comes with just 4GB of RAM and a drive capacity of 32GB, which could be filled up quite quickly unless you are using the range of 2m Android apps on offer from Google Play that help you conduct and save more activities online.

The actual laptop is pretty sturdy with an aluminium alloy housing and 12 hours of battery operation. This makes it pretty heavy though at 3.4lbs. You also get a 14-inch screen and built in High Dynamic Range webcam.

£50 discount

This Chromebook was only released in April 2016 so is by no means ready for the scrapheap, but several versions since then now offer a touchscreen.

If you want something more recent, The Asus ChromeBook Flip C101 is being offered at a £50 discount at £249.99.

It was only released in September 2017 but offers a 10-point multi-touch screen.

This touchscreen Chromebook has a 360° hinge that lets you switch instantly from a Chromebook to a tablet — or anything in between on its 10-inch screen. This means an end to holding your computer in uncomfortable positions. It can be a laptop or a tablet or be positioned as a stand or in a tent shape depending how you want to look at it.

The C101 has the usual access to Google Play apps and is thin and lightweight at just 15.6mm and 1.9lbs, making it easy to stuff in your bag and carry around on your travels.

There is slightly less juice compared with the Chromebook 14, offering nine hours of battery life. You also get a similar 4GB or RAM but just 16GB of internal storage.

If you just need an affordable Chromebook for basic tasks, Currys is also advertising the Asus Chromebook C202 for £179.99. This offers either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 10 hours of battery life. It is bulkier than the C101 at 2.6lbs and isn’t touchscreen or so flexible.

All the deals qualify for free delivery or you can pay online and collect instore. You can also add technical support and cloud storage by paying extra with Currys’ KNOWHOW team.

You have to be quick though as the deal expires tomorrow (27 Feb).
