Digital TV provider Sky has revealed it is revamping the range of movie channels available through its broadcast platform.

Bundle provider Sky has revealed it is making several changes to the movie channel line-up featured on its digital TV service.

Sky Movies is set to replace Screen 1 with the new Showcase/HD channel from March 26th and will begin the broadcast of the new channel by showing all three films in The Mummy franchise.

The company is also rejigging the rest of its movie channels, with Sky Movies Action & Thriller becoming Sky Movies Action & Adventure/HD and Sky Movies Drama changing to Sky Movies Drama & Romance/HD.

Sky Movies Screen 2 is also being renamed as Sky Movies Crime & Thriller/HD.

Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies, said: "With the introduction of the new channel line-up, not only can film fans find and enjoy their favourites with ease but also enjoy a range of fantastic seasons, specials and collections on Sky Movies Showcase HD."

Sky recently announced plans to launch Europe's first dedicated 3D TV channel in April.
