Sky confirms SPL games to be shown on digital TV

Digital TV provider Sky has confirmed the SPL games it is set to broadcast live via its sports channels.

Bundle provider Sky has announced the matches from the Scottish Premier League (SPL) that it intends to broadcast live through its premium digital TV channels.

Celtic's away game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on August 14th is set to be the first game from the league which will be broadcast on Sky Sports in the coming season.

Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports, told the broadcaster's website that the clash between one of the league's top teams and Terry Butcher's promoted side will be "an intriguing challenge".

Other notable SPL fixtures which will be shown on the channels, which are available through bundles from providers including Sky, Virgin Media and BT, include Celtic's clash with Rangers on October 24th.

The first Edinburgh derby of the season between Hibernian and Hearts will also be shown on November 7th.

Sky is set to begin its season of Premier League action by showing the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City on August 14th.
