Sky launches VIP customer loyalty scheme

Sky has launched a loyalty scheme to reward TV and broadband customers for sticking with the provider.

Sky VIP offers rewards such as free tickets, prize draws and priority service, with the best rewards saved for those who’ve been with the company the longest.

Customers can join the programme via the My Sky app and will immediately be able to access a free Sky Store movie.

They will then be assigned a membership tier based on the length of time they have been a Sky customer.

The four tiers are Silver (0-3 years), Gold (3-8 years), Platinum (8-15 years) and Black (15+ years).

Rewards include free tickets to Premier League and EFL football matches, international and domestic cricket, rugby’s autumn internationals, the NFL International Series and European Tour golf as well as exclusive Sky Sports events.

There will be prize draws including for the chance to win a trip to Iceland to see some of the filming locations for Game of Thrones, free tickets to exclusive cinema preview screenings and the chance to be in the audience of Sky shows including Thronecast and A League of Their Own.

Sky said its most loyal customers will get priority customer service as well as free access to Sky Go Extra and Sky Atlantic VIP, a new channel where viewers can see new shows 24 hours before they’re on Sky Atlantic. They will also get free set-up for fibre broadband and Sky Q.

Stephen Van Rooyen, Sky’s UK and Ireland chief executive, said: “Sky has always been a customer led company and the launch of Sky VIP is about putting our existing customers first and showing we value their loyalty.

“This isn’t about tactical deals or collecting points – it’s about offering genuine experiences and benefits we know our customers value and which only Sky can offer.

“That’s why we are gathering every single ticket that we have from our sports partners and giving them to our customers, alongside free tickets to exclusive film previews and money can’t buy experiences.

“And for our most loyal customers, who we know want the latest kit and best possible service, we’ll be offering access to our best technology as well as priority customer service.

“But it doesn’t stop there – this is only the beginning as Sky VIP will keep expanding, with more benefits and rewards to be added in the coming months.”
