Sky Mobile deal offers free PS4 and Gran Turismo Sport with Sony phones including the XA2

Friday, February 16th 2018 by Steve McCaskill

Sky Mobile has a superb deal for gamers, who can get a brand new Sony phone – including the brand new Sony Xperia XA2 – with a free PlayStation 4 console and Gran Turismo Sport.

The PlayStation 4 is the world’s best-selling games console and can play hundreds of games either from a disc or via the PlayStation Store. It has a range of media apps, including Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Sky, while you can also stream games using PlayStation Now.

It’s also a fully-fledged Blu-Ray player, making it an ideal living room media hub.

Gran Turismo Sport is the latest in the long-running, critically-acclaimed racing series. For this iteration, the focus is firmly on motorsport and online racing, complete with the series' trademark realistic handling and visuals.

To get your PlayStation 4, all you need to do is add the PS4 before you checkout when buying one of three of the latest Sony smartphones.

The Sony Xperia XA2 debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year, offering premium smartphone functionality without the price tag.

XZ Premium from £30 a month

The device has a 5.2 full HD display, a 23 megapixel rear camera and 8 megapixel front camera for selfies. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be supplemented by a MicroSD card of up to 256GB. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device for secure login and a long lasting battery. The phone is available in pink or black and costs £20 a month.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium costs £30 a month and comes with 64GB of storage, a stunning 4K display and powerful processing power underneath. It can run the latest version of Android, version 8.0 Oreo, and is pretty good value for money when compared to other Android flagships such as the Google Pixel 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S8.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is £28 a month and comes with technology from other Sony divisions. Bravia innovations enhance the 5.2 inch display, while the speaker promises up to 50% more noise and the MotionEye camera from the Cybershot range makes an appearance.

The best thing is that several Sony Xperia phones can stream your PlayStation 4 via Remote Play, so you could play Gran Turismo Sport on the move.

For £5 extra a month you can get 500MB, for £10 you get 1GB and 5GB is £15 a month. The largest allowance is 10GB, which costs £20 a month. You can move up and down tariffs each month if you find you need more or less data and any unused allowances are rolled over to the following month.

Sky offers unlimited calls and texts for free to its Sky TV customers, otherwise it's £10 a month. If you don’t want a call and text allowance, its 10p a minute or 10p a text.

Sky entered the mobile market in late 2016 and uses O2’s network to power its mobile service. It is one of several ‘virtual’ networks operating in the UK.
