Sky Mobile deal promises a free Sky Store voucher with any Sony phone
Fancy watching a film tonight? Need a new phone? Well Sky Mobile has your back with its latest promotion.
If you buy any Sony phone, Sky will give you a Sky Store voucher worth £16.99 – enough for virtually any movie available, including the latest releases like Blade Runner 2049 or Dunkirk and classics from the silver screen.
Sky Store is available on a variety of devices, including Sky TV and Now TV boxes, and lets customers rent standard definition or high definition films or download them for an additional fee.
And you can even download the film immediately and get the DVD or Blu-Ray sent to your house. So you could rent a couple of films or buy and keep a film you love.
To get your voucher, just pick any Sony handset and a Sky Mobile tariff. The voucher will be sent out with your device.
You could opt for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium for £21 a month and no upfront cost. It has 64GB of storage, a stunning 4K display and powerful processing power underneath. It can run the latest version of Android, version 8.0 Oreo, and is pretty good value for money when compared to other Android flagships such as the Google Pixel 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Handset plans from £6 a month
The Sony Xperia XZ1 debuted at IFA in Berlin last year and incorporates technology from Sony’s other divisions. Bravia innovations enhance the 5.2 inch display, while the speaker promises up to 50% more noise and the MotionEye camera from the Cybershot range makes an appearance.
It costs £19 a month, while the smaller Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is £16 a month.
Wallet-friendly alternatives include the Sony Xperia L1, which is £6 a month and the Sony Xperia XA1 which is £8 a month.
Sky offers a range of tariffs for your new phone. For £5 a month you can get 500MB, for £10 you get 1GB and 5GB is £15 a month. The largest allowance is 10GB, which costs £20 a month.
You can move up and down tariffs each month if you find you need more or less data and any unused allowances are rolled over to the following month.
Sky offers unlimited calls and texts for free to its Sky TV customers, otherwise its £10 a month. If you don’t want a call and text allowance, its 10p a minute or 10p a text.
Sky entered the mobile market in late 2016 and uses O2’s network to power its mobile service. It is one of several ‘virtual’ networks operating in the UK, although Sky retains significant control over service rollout and billing. So, it could roll out wi-fi calling in the future if it wanted to.
So if a free move and a nice new phone sounds good to you, then move fast.
