Sky Mobile gives away a free tablet with Samsung Galaxy S8 deals

Monday, March 5th 2018 by Steve McCaskill

The Samsung Galaxy S9 might be dominating the headlines after its debut at Mobile World Congress last week, but Sky Mobile is offering a free tablet to anyone who orders its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 was released in the UK last year and was until recently the company’s flagship device.

It sports a curved design, 5.8-inch display, the Bixby personal assistant and a meaty octa-core processor. It can also double up as a desktop computer if you want to work on a larger screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is essentially the same phone but with a 6.2-inch display, so there should be something for everyone.

Sky is offering a 64GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 for £25 a month if you take out a 24-month deal, while the S8 Plus is £29 a month. On top of that, you will need a price plan so you can access Sky’s network.

For £5 extra a month you can get 500MB, for £10 you get 1GB and 5GB is £15 a month. The largest allowance is 10GB, which costs £20 a month.

You can move up and down tariffs each month if you find you need more or less data and any unused allowances are rolled over to the following month.

Offer ends 15 March

Sky offers unlimited calls and texts for free to its Sky TV customers, otherwise its £10 a month. If you don’t want a call and text allowance, its 10p a minute or 10p a text. The cheapest way to get the deal would be to opt for the S8, already be a Sky TV customer and take the 500MB data plan.

Once you’ve decided on a plan, simply add the Galaxy Tab A 7” to your basket. The Android device boasts a seven-inch display, measures in at just 8.7mm thick and weighs just 289 grams. It has a long battery life that can support up to nine hours of video playback from a single charge.

It comes with 8GB of built-in storage, but this can be supplemented by up to 200GB via a MicroSD card.

So if you fancy getting your hands on one of the best smartphones around today, and get a free tablet as a bonus, then hurry. The offer ends on 15 March.

Sky is most famous for its satellite television platform but in recent years it has expanded into the broadband and landline markets. It entered the mobile sector in late 2016 and uses O2’s network to power its mobile service. It is one of several ‘virtual’ networks operating in the UK.
